BHAYANDER: A three-year-old boy died after falling down a seven-foot-deep uncovered manhole on Mira-Bhayander Road on Tuesday. Little Hrishikesh Gupta was walking home with his mother and brother around 9 pm on Tuesday when the accident occurred. His mother, unaware that her child had fallen into wholesale colthing the manhole, searched for him for over an hour before rescuers arrived.
The Guptas were returning home after visiting the doctor. Hrishikesh had been walking behind his mother and brother. As they neared their home, his mother turned around to look for him replica rolex and realised he was missing. Thinking he may have wandered off, she searched for him. She spotted her his shoe by an uncovered manhole and called the fire brigade and police. Firemen searched the sewer for two hours and fished out the child's body. The Navghar police in Bhayander (East) registered a case of accidental death. Civic officials blamed the incident on frequent thefts of concrete manhole covers.
